ACTIVITIES OF THE YEAR 2017 – 18

1 . TREKKING TO KHONOMA

The rovers and rangers , DBC Maram undertook a trekking at Khonoma village , Nagaland for three days from 30th September to 2nd October 2017. The theme was “ The Future Belongs To Those Who Prepare For It Today “. The team was comprised of 55 students and guided by 3 teachers namely Sir Marvin Kapangshai , Sir John Britto and Miss D. Ela-a Justina  . The accommodation to the team was provided at St. John Bosco School, Khonoma village . The team was divided into various patrols and companies under the command of each patrols and company leaders. There were three patrol for girl and three for boys. The trekking was part of the rovering movement.  The trekking was based on the basis of competition among the six groups.

The activities performed are:

(a) Flag break: – The flag on the first day was lead by captain of our club.

(b) Camp fire: – In the life of a rover/ranger the campfire is the most enjoying part. We sing, dance , play games , and had recreation activity.

(c) Trekking on the Khonoma hill :– The trekking that we undertook was on an unknown place where we are ask to move with the help of sign and symbol untill we reach the destination.

(d) Singing and skit competition:– One of the most enjoying part of our stay in Khonoma was the competition among the three group.

2. THE 8th STATE LEVEL CAMPOREE, LANGJING( IMPHAL WEST)Photo 98 does not exist

The camp was the 8th state camporee organized by the MSBSG (Manipur State Bharat Scout and Guide). It was held from 10th – 14th  feb 2018. The camp was conducted at Langjing , Imphal west, Paree Imom sindam shang school. The camp was participated by 11 institution with the total campers of 250 students. The organizer conducted with the aim of developing the personality of the campers.

The organizing team imposed strict camp rule on the campers. For example, rising the exact timing everyday and sleeping the exact timing every night.
Camp Routine:-

  1. 5:30 AM   Rouse

  3. 7:00 AM   Break fast
  4. 7:45 AM   Inspection, prayer and flag break
  5. 8:30 AM   Camporee activity
  6. 11:00 AM Lunch
  7. 01:00 PM Camporee activity
  8. 4:00 PM   Tea
  9. 4:30 PM   Camporee activity
  10. 7:00 PM   Dinner
  11. 8:00 PM   Camp fire
  12. 10:00 PM  Lights off.

We the rover/ranger of Don Bosco College Maram moved out from Maram on 10th February 2018 by 4:00 AM in the morning. The team reach the camp site by 10:30 am. The team consist of 19 members:

The organizing team conducted 15 competition. Namely; physical display, camp craft, camp fire, slogan, quize, painting, exhibiton, food plaza, cultural dance, cultural song, patriotic song, march past, friendship hunt, route mass, and colour party. We got eight merit certificate out of these competitions.
