ORIGIN OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Physics was established in the year 2006 at Don Bosco College, Maram and it is a undergraduate course.

Objectives

  • To awaken the young minds and discover their talents in physics through dedication to teaching, commitment to students and innovative instructional methods.
  • —To initiate science (in particular Physics) awareness and feeling towards the slogan
  • “ Science for shaping the future nation”.

1. AN EDUCATION TOUR

January 19th to 21st:
The sixth semester students of the department under the guidance of the department teachers undertook trip to Bakajan Cement Factory (Karbi Anglong, Assam) to study the process of cement manufacturing.


February 20th:
The department organised an educational tour to Leimatak Hydro Power Station in order to study hydro power generation and power circulation in Mainpur.

2. GUEST LECTURE, SCIENCE EXHIBITION CUM SEMINAR
April 7th: The department students brought out two models for the science exhibition. The first model was based on the production of Electricity from steam, and the second model was about the Wireless transmission of Electrical Energy.
