ORIGIN OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department of Computer Science was opened as a full fledged department in the year 2006.The emerging trend in the academic atmosphere made it inevitable to introduce course of computer science in degree level at par excellence in terms of quality with the other institution in India.
The main focus was to offer BCS and BCA courses in the academic calendar. The department of computer science ever since it started has been in place there has been no turning back. The department now has fully equipped laboratories and faculty staff along with the required resources of support staff.
All the faculty members are equipped with essential university level exposure programs/ trainings, which are meant to bridge the gap of learning by way of refresher trainings. The department arranges IT exposure trip from time to time the state as per feasibility and requirement.
The faculty members of the department not only indulge in imparting basics and deep theoretical knowledge, which are syllabus oriented, but also pro – actively take up computer classes for other departments like BA., B. Com., B.Sc., in consultation with the administrative staff of the college.
The department also offer courses like CCC in collaboration with NEELIT. There is scope of improvement in the department and also in pipeline are the plans of offering certificate and diploma courses in Computer science in order that the students of Arts and Science can get double certificate after graduating from the college.
